It's hard to believe it's six years since BMW first put the cat among the pigeons with its radically styled 7-series. Just think about the effect that Chris Bangle's flame surfacing introduced - the reverberations can still be felt in some quarters of Munich to this day.So the all-new Seven, due to be unveiled in 12 months' time at the Paris Motor Show 2008, signals a new chapter in BM design. And our spies have already been busy catching the newcomer on test in Germany.Our man on the ground caught these two prototypes on test, and close inspection reveals they are the short- and long-wheelbase versions. The extra length is all squeezed into the wheelbase for more back-seat space, and the longer door is plainly visible.Compared with today's E65/66 model, the next Seven will be smoother and more elegant. Expect a raft of technology inside and out, with head-up displays, cleaner engines and a return to normality after the excesses of today's fourth-generation car.

從間諜照長、短軸距的車身比例，較低的車尾及腰線，可以非常肯定BMW下一代新七列外觀風格會趨向BMW E92 Coupe一樣，走回傳統優雅中略帶運動氣息的風格；只是腰線如能再高一點整體會更有氣勢及飽滿。

我十分認同你的看法，
將腰線提高是必然的設計趨勢，
這次大改款大七照spyshot看來，輪廓有些保守，
既沒有翹屁股與短屁股，C柱倒鉤的Hofmeister kink也沒有彎的更誇張，
乍看之下與2002年的E65相比，躍進程度沒這麼大，
不過我相信BMW設計團隊不會讓我失望的，
我們就拭目以待吧！
